Stay Hawaii
Guest Terms
Effective date: August 25, 2026
Last updated: August 25, 2026
These Guest Terms apply when you browse stayhawaii.app or book a stay through Stay Hawaii ("Stay Hawaii," "we," "us"). Stay Hawaii is a marketplace where travelers book Hawaii vacation rentals directly with local hosts. It is run by the same team that builds Navi CoHost, the software hosts use to manage their rentals. By booking a stay, you agree to these terms.
1. What Stay Hawaii is, and what it is not
Stay Hawaii connects you with independent hosts. When you book, your booking contract is between you and the host. The host owns or manages the property, sets the price and house rules, and receives your payment. We provide the listings, the booking tools, and the messaging between you and your host. We do not own, operate, or inspect the properties.
Every host on Stay Hawaii completes identity and bank verification with our payment provider, Stripe, before they can accept bookings. The "Verified host" badge means that verification is complete. It is not a guarantee about the property itself.
2. Booking and payment
- The total price, including any cleaning fees and taxes the host has set, is shown before you pay. What you see at checkout is what you are charged.
- Stay Hawaii does not add a guest service fee to your booking.
- Payments are processed by Stripe or PayPal. Your payment goes to the host, so your card or PayPal statement may show the host's business name.
- You must be at least 18 years old and the person whose payment method is used, or have that person's permission.
3. Cancellations, changes, and refunds
Each host sets their own cancellation policy, and it is shown on the listing and at checkout before you pay. If you need to cancel or change a booking, message your host as early as you can. Refunds under the host's policy are issued by the host back to your original payment method. If something goes wrong and you cannot resolve it with the host, contact us and we will help where we can.
4. Identity checks
For everyone's safety, your host may ask to see a government-issued photo ID before or at check-in, as noted at checkout. You show your ID to the host directly. Stay Hawaii never collects or stores copies of ID documents.
5. Staying at the property
- Follow the host's house rules and the guest count you booked for.
- Treat the home with care. You are responsible for damage caused by you or your group beyond normal wear and tear.
- Local laws apply during your stay, including noise and parking rules.
6. Your account and messages
A guest account is created with your email when you book or save a stay. Keep your information accurate, and use messaging honestly. We may suspend accounts used for fraud, harassment, spam, or anything unlawful.
7. Reviews
Reviews must reflect your own genuine stay. We may remove reviews that are fake, abusive, or written about a stay that did not happen.
8. Taxes and local rules
Hosts are responsible for holding the licenses and permits their rental requires, and for Hawaii taxes such as General Excise and Transient Accommodations taxes. Where a host collects tax, it is part of the price shown to you at checkout.
9. Our responsibility to you
We work hard to keep Stay Hawaii accurate and running, but listings are created by hosts and the service is provided "as is." To the extent the law allows, our liability to you for any claim related to Stay Hawaii is limited to the amount you paid for the booking the claim is about. Nothing in these terms limits rights that consumer law gives you and does not allow to be limited.
10. Changes to these terms
If we update these terms, the new version will be posted here with a new date. Changes apply to bookings made after the change.
